Susie and Dan were married at the Detroit Yacht Club, one of my most favorite places to shoot. they chose to see each other before the ceremony so we could go into the city and get some great urban shots. They rented, of all things, a school bus. I have to say, it worked out quite well. We had such a great time! The day could not have turned out more perfect.
Friends shouldn't let buzzed friends sign marriage licenses.
Susan and Dan will be married this September and I have the honor of being their photographer. We did an engagement session in Depot Town on what had to be the hottest day of the summer. We managed to get some great shots in before any of us fainted. See you guys in September!
Now anyone who knows me, knows how much I love my downtown weddings. I cannot get enough of Detroit. The city is very near and dear to my heart and is an endless wealth of photogenic hotspots. Erica and Aaron were wise and chose to see each other before the ceremony so we could take off into the city for some great portraits. Greektown never fails to surprise me with something new. Eastern Market provided some great graffiti backdrops. The steps behind the DIA were a timeless beauty and may become extinct.
Erica's dress was a work of art made by St. Pucchi. It possessed a rare element, color.
Erica and Aaron's ceremony and reception took place at the Detroit Yacht Club (another favorite of mine). Guests were wined and dined by the impeccable staff of the DYC and danced into the night with the help of Mike Staff productions. 
Angela and Alan were married in a beautiful church in Detroit. The celebrated their first day as a married couple at the Omni Riverfront Hotel. The weather did not cooperate for cocktails out on the patio, but it did provide the perfect light for some quick portraits between the raindrops. 
I have a slew of events to show you! I have been quite busy this May and fell behind in my blogging. May was filled with some very unique weddings, engagement sessions, and a few senior sessions. Somewhere in there, we managed to get away for a couple of days to visit my brother in Cincinnati. But enough about me, on with the pictures!
Nita and John were had a fabulous wedding day. Nita prepared at the Omni Hotel in Detroit then traveled in style up Jefferson, to be married to John at First Presbytarian. Then we were off to Penna's for some fabulous food and a festive celebration.
You don't have to know me very well or for very long to know just how much I love my Detroit weddings. The city just doesn't disapoint! Tenisha and Lamont were married in a beautiful ceremony on stage at the Gem Theatre and celebrated with an evening of dinner and dancing downstairs in the Century Grille.
Between the ceremony and reception we all piled into the party bus and had a great session on Detroit's Riverwalk behind the Ren Cen. I finally discovered a use for bridesmaid wraps!
It was one of those receptions where you had to fight for room on the dancefloor. Was the dancefloor made of wood? I don't know, I never saw it. It was covered in feet.
The last Saturday in March we had the pleasure of photographing Shirley, Tim, and their entourage. It was a fabulously cloudy day. We got the most beautiful, romantic, old world images at the Belle Isle fountain. I am over the moon about them! We had a great time in Detroit, photographing in Greektown, Belle Isle, and the Town Pump, all before the wedding. Everyone was so relaxed. Afterwords, we made it back to the elegant Ritz-Carlton in Dearborn for the ceremony and reception.
Bellisario Florist did an amazing job on the flowers. I am always blown away with their work.

Erin and David were married at the georgeous Grosse Pointe Academy Chapel surrounded by their family and friends. Before arriving at the reception, we jaunted of downtown for some fun pics and a pint. You know how I love my downtown weddings! We had a great time, although I don't know how some of the bridal party members could possibly remember it after the "Downey Bombs" ! Have a great honeymoon!
